Mike Patton in Video Games

Mike Patton

God hates a coward, sonny.

I’m not going into Mike Patton’s entire biography and discography here. Look him up on Wikipedia if you want all that. Just know that he’s my favorite musician and his shriek alone could spay your cat.

Like any talented and creative gentleman (ahem), he’s also a gamer. Not only does he play video games, but his diverse vocal abilities have landed him several in-game voiceover gigs:

  • The Darkness – Voice of The Darkness, a demon that possesses your character, giving you some really brutal powers. The voice work is eerie and fits perfectly with the source material. He talks to you from within your own head, taunting and manipulating you to do his bidding.
  • Bionic Commando – Voice of the Bionic Commando, Nathan Spencer.
  • Portal (part of Orange Box) – Voice of the Anger Sphere, the final core-chip of GLaDOS.
  • Left 4 Dead (1 & 2) – Voice of the zombie-like “infected”.

I’d like to hear Patton voice Akuma in the next Street Fighter. That would rock my pants off. “Shosh!”
